President Taro Okada States Saya Kamitani Significantly Raised STARDOM’s Level, Has Tokyo Dome Aspirations

The momentum STARDOM has been enjoying over the past year appears to be a speeding train with no intention of slowing down. On April 26th, STARDOM set an attendance record for the promotion as 8,015 fans filled the Yokohama Arena for ALL STAR GRAND QUEENDOM 2026.

At the event, Saya Kamitani saw her 483 day reign as World of STARDOM champion come to an end as she was dethroned by Sayaka Kurara.

STARDOM President Taro Okada spoke to the press as he discussed the promotion’s record breaking highly successful event at the Yokohama Arena. President Okada stated that while he was hoping for 10,000 fans, he was happy they surpassed last years ALL STAR GRAND QUEENDOM 2025 event by 500 fans.

From President Taro Okada:

“We saw an increase of about 500 people compared to last year. Since we had set a goal of 10,000, I’m filled with regret that we didn’t quite reach it. However, I believe we can hold our heads high knowing that we surpassed last year’s numbers and are moving forward one step at a time.”

President Okada revealed that the finals of the upcoming 5★STAR GP tournament will take place at Ryogoku Kokugikan and brought up the Tokyo Dome for a potential event for the thriving promotion.

“While we cannot announce the Tokyo Dome event yet, we will first hold the ‘5★STAR GP’ final at Ryogoku Kokugikan and continue to push forward with Stardom’s momentum unabated this summer, even after the Yokohama Arena event.”

STARDOM megastar Saya Kamitani’s name was brought up as President Okada called the former World of STARDOM champion a “special presence”.

“She is a special presence and a wrestler who has significantly raised Stardom’s level. She was engaged in a battle where losing the title at any time would have been inevitable, and although she lost this time, her value remains undiminished.”

President Okada has mentioned holding a STARDOM event at Tokyo Dome and Saya Kamitani has stated in the past that her goal is to bring the promotion to the Tokyo Dome. STARDOM is the hottest promotion in Japan right now with their popularity rising to monumental levels in 2026. Its a safe bet that STARDOM will be announcing an event at the Tokyo Dome within a year.
