STARDOM announced recently that it will be holding auditions in search of the next group of trainees who hope to become future in-ring competitors for the promotion. The auditions will be called STARDOM Project 2025 and will be broadcast on TV Asashi as a special titled Golden Dream.
STARDOM President Taro Okada discussed the qualities that he searches for when evaluating potential wrestlers for the promotion. He emphasized the importance of “sheer determination”.
From STARDOM President Taro Okada:
We’re looking for people who have a strong will to convey something and achieve something. There are wrestlers who don’t have the physical strength of athletes, but through sheer determination, said, ‘I want the belt,’ and really made it to the belt.”
“A wrestler who pursues a character that is unique to her and strives to become a one-of-a-kind presence.”
“The expression we use is ‘someone whose voice carries.”
Maika, who is one of the judges for STARDOM Project 2025 had a lighthearted requirement as to what she will be looking for:
“Someone who is over 20 years old and can drink alcohol. Girls who can drink alcohol are cute!”
For STARDOM Project 2025, the promotion is requiring that women are 15 years of age or older by the end of March 2026, are comfortable being on TV plus other media and are serious about pursuing a career in pro-wrestling. The auditions will conclude in July 2025 with new trainees in place.
