On April 26th, former WWE & AEW and current GLEAT star Parker Boudreaux made history as he defeated Superstar Shanky Singh in Melbourne, Australia to win the Oceania Pro Wrestling Global Championship. With the victory, Boudreaux was crowned the first ever OPW Global Champion.
In big news, Boudreaux confirmed today, via X, that will be defending the Big Gold Belt during his next tour in Japan for GLEAT which is set to kick off in a few days. His latest GLEAT tour will be Boudreaux’s sixth with the company.
Monthly Puroresu reached out to Boudreaux about defending his OPW Global Championship while in Japan. In an exclusive comment to Monthly Puroresu, Boudreaux appeared poised and ready to defend his title against the best GLEAT has to offer.
From Parker Boudreaux:
I’m beyond blessed to defend this title in Japan. It has been retired for years and I was the one to bring it back. It’s given to the best professional wrestler that isn’t signed to WWE or AEW. Japanese fans are the most passionate and respectful in the world. They truly understand and appreciate strong style wrestling. It’s a great honor to bring this championship to Japan and defend it against the best puroresu has to offer in GLEAT. I can’t wait to step into that ring and show everyone why I’m carrying this $10,000+ 24k gold championship . I won the title on April 26th, 2026 in Melbourne, Australia against former WWE superstar Shanky Singh. Looking forward to seeing you all soon for my 6th tour with GLEAT in Japan. Get ready this tour , it will be my most historic, memorable, MOST GLEAT tour yet with my new sensei Kotaro Suzuki.
While Boudreaux’s first challenger for the OPW Global Title has not yet been confirmed, fans can expect that announcement to come in the near future.
