The New Japan Pro-Wrestling World Tag League 2025 tournament is set to get underway on Nov. 20th at Korakuen Hall. The annual tournament will run through to Dec. 14 with championship match taking place at Grandmesse Kumamoto.
NJPW revealed all the participating tag teams in this year’s tournament. There will be sixteen total teams competing and they will be split into two blocks consisting of eight teams each.

There are many tag teams that are coming together for the first time and debuting at the World Tag League 2025.
Hiroshi Tanahashi will be competing in his final World Tag League as he joins forces with El Phantasmo.

Former AJPW Triple Crown Champion Shuji Ishikawa will compete in the World Tag League for the first time as he teams with El Desperado.

The winner of the 2025 edition of the World Tag League will earn the opportunity to challenge current IWGP Tag Team Champions OSKAR & Yuto-Ice.
The NJPW World Tag League began as the MSG Tag League back in 1980. The tournament went through a number of name changes before becoming the World Tag League back in 2012.
Antonio Inoki and Bob Backlund were the winners of the inaugural MSG Tag League back in 1980. They defeated Hulk Hogan & Stan Hansen in the finals of that tournament.
