Momo Watanabe Blasts Sareee, Says STARDOM Doesn’t Need Her

STARDOM superstar Momo Watanabe is not a fan of the current IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee and had a few choice words for her during a recent interview with Tokyo Sports.

Watanabe, who is part of the H.A.T.E. faction, will be competing in the same 5 STAR GP 2025 Blue Star B block as Sareee and made her disdain for the IWGP Women’s Champion obvious.

When asked about Sareee, Watanabe responded that Sareee is not needed in STARDOM and doesn’t fit the promotion’s style of fighting.

From Momo Watanabe:

“Sareee said something like, ‘In this block, the only one I have my eye on is Momo Watanabe,’ but I don’t like that kind of ‘I’ll acknowledge you’ stance. She holds the IWGP title, so I can’t complain about her strength, but she doesn’t fit STARDOM’s style of fighting. She might be stimulating, but… we don’t need her here.”

Watanabe feels that Sareee is clinging to the past with her desire to channel the Crush Gals and Antonio Inoki. She indicated that Sareee is incapable of creating anything new.

From Momo Watanabe:

“Sareee seems to be aiming for something that goes against the times. Whether it’s the Crush Gals or Antonio Inoki—they’re just people of the past. She can’t create something new, so she has no choice but to cling to the past. I don’t understand her mindset.”

On July 24th, which is three days before the start of the 5 STAR GP 2025 tournament, Watanabe will team with Saya Kamitani, & Konami as they face Sareee, Chi Chi & Miku Kanae. Watanabe promises to make things very difficult for Sareee and her tag team partners to the extent that they will never want to set foot in a STARDOM ring again.

From Momo Watanabe:

“It looks like she’s bringing two people I don’t even know, but I’ll make sure all three of them can never step foot in STARDOM again. Oh, Sareee is already confirmed for the 5★STAR? If I beat her up at Korakuen, she won’t be able to compete, right?”

When Sareee won the IWGP Women’s Title, she knew there would be a long list of competitors that would be targeting her. Sareee can add Watanabe’s name to that list of potential challengers.

Watanabe knows if she can score a victory over Sareee in the 5 STAR GP 2025, she’ll move to the top of that list and can demand a title shot.

The STARDOM 5 STAR GP 2025 is going to be very interesting and it all begins in five days.
