Back on March 30th, Utami Hayashishita successfully defended her Marigold World Title against the tough challenge of Bozilla. Following that match, MIRAI appeared and challenged Hayashishita for the red belt.
Hayashishita has been reluctant in giving MIRAI a Marigold World Title opportunity. The world champion has indicated that she feels MIRAI hasn’t earned a shot at her title and made this known during a recent press conference.
Marigold held a press conference on April 18th to promote their upcoming MARIGOLD Rising Spirit 2025 event which is set for April 25th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. The featured match will see Utami Hayashishita & Marigold Superfly Champion Victoia Yuzuki facing off against the team of MIRAI and United National Champion Mai Sakurai.
During the course of the press conference, Hayashishita, who is obviously playing mind games with her potential challenger, told MIRAI that she hasn’t earned a title shot and if she doesn’t produce any results in their upcoming tag team match then Hayashishita never wants to fight MIRAI again.
MIRAI responded to Hayashishita’s comments and indicated that she believes that she is capable of being the world champion.
From MIRAI:
“When I declared my challenge, Utami Hayashishita didn’t agree. I understand that she didn’t accept my challenge because I lost at a crucial moment, but I believe in myself that I am capable of wearing that crimson belt.”
MIRAI is expected to firing on cylinders on April 25th as she is out to prove to Hayashishita that she deserves to challenge for the Marigold World Title. MIRAI knows if she could score a victory over Hayashishita at MARIGOLD Rising Spirit 2025 in their tag team match, she will automatically earn a shot at the red belt.
