MIRAI Opens Up About Leaving Marigold

When MIRAI made her shocking announcement on Sept. 20th that she was leaving Marigold, many fans were left stunned and even confused.  MIRAI had been an integral part of the success of Marigold since its inception back in April 2024.

With Oct. 13th, which is her last date for Marigold, rapidly approaching, fans and even wrestlers were wondering the reasoning behind her decision to leave Rossy Ogawa’s promotion.

While MIRAI touched upon why she decided to depart Marigold when she made the initial announcement, she provided more details when she recently spoke with Tokyo Sports.

MIRAI opened up and indicated that she doesn’t plan on competing as a pro wrestler for long and wanted to fulfill things that she hasn’t accomplished yet. She reassured everyone that she is not leaving because of her lack of results in Marigold.

From MIRAI:

“I’ve said for a long time that I don’t plan on continuing pro wrestling for long, and in my current wrestling career, I wanted to fulfill things I hadn’t done yet or wanted to do. It’s not that I’m quitting because I’m not getting results; the timing of not getting results was the timing for me to confront myself. I thought that taking action, rather than just waiting, would suit the path I’m currently considering, so I decided to leave Marigold. So, I’m forward-looking about this.”

MIRAI touched upon her desire to wrestle overseas. She said she wants to be a hero for little  kids.

From MIRAI:

“I want to test how far my wrestling alone can communicate in places where the language doesn’t connect, and I also want to challenge things I gave up on along the way. My desire to be a hero for little kids hasn’t changed. I want to walk a pro-wrestling life that only I can walk.”

MIRAI will team with Mai Sakurai to face the Darkness Revolution duo of Nagisa Nozaki & CHIAKI in her final match for Marigold on Oct. 13th.

While it’s sad for many to see MIRAI depart Marigold, one thing is certain and that is wherever MIRAI ends up, success is sure to follow.
