MIRAI Keeps DREAM★STAR GP 2025 Championship Hopes Alive As The Tournament Continued On Sept. 6th

The Marigold DREAM★STAR GP 2025 continued on Sept. 6th with a sold out crowd at the Toyama 2F Multipurpose Hall.

Despite only having three points going into the event, MIRAI remained in contention to win her block as she had three bouts left on her tournament schedule. She faced Misa Matsui on Sept. 6th and a loss would have eliminated her from the competition.

MIRAI staved off elimination as she defeated Matsui with a Lariat at the 12:28 mark of the match to raise her point total to five. With her win, she most certainly was rooting for Miku Aono in the following tournament match as Aono faced Nagisa Nozaki. Nozaki had seven points heading into the match and a win by Nozaki would have ended MIRAI’s hopes of going to the final match of the tournament.

Aono, who also needed a win to remain in contention, gave MIRAI what she wanted and defeated Nozaki in a tough battle at the 11:19 mark of the match. Aono raised her point total to seven and spoiled Nozaki’s opportunity to take the lead in the STAR League block.

This is the updated breakdown of matches remaining for all those who are still eligible in the STAR League to make it to the championship match:

• Mai Sakurai – Sept. 14 against Miku Aono
• Nagisa Nozaki – Sept. 14 against Misa Matsui
• Misa Matsui: Sept 14 against Nagisa Nozaki
• Chika Goto: Sept. 7 against Miku Aono, Sept. 14 against Kizuna Tanaka
• Miku Aono: Sept. 7 against Chika Goto, Sept. 14 against Mai Sakurai
• MIRAI: Sept. 7 against Kizuna Tanaka, Sept. 14 against Chanyota.

The DREAM League had one match featured on Sept. 6th as Mayu Iwatani faced CHIAKI. Iwatani was looking for a win which would have sent her into a three way first place tie with Utami Hayashishita and Victoria Yuzuki at nine points each. But CHIAKI wasn’t about to let that happen.

In a wild bout, we saw CHIAKI attempt to use a chair on Iwatani and then Iwatani kicking CHIAKI down a flight of stairs. With both combatants on the outside, CHIAKI prevented Iwatani from getting back in the ring as the referee was counting thus resulting in a double count-out. Each competitor earned one point each bringing Iwatani’s total to eight as she remained in second place in the DREAM League block.

The DREAM League will be represented in the finals by either Utami Hayashishita, Victoria Yuzuki or Mayu Iwatani. All three have one match left with all scheduled for Sept 14th.

Yuzuki will face Iwatani on Sept. 14th in a massive showdown that could determine who advances to the finals. Hayashishita will face Kouki Amarei as she attempts to win the DREAM★STAR GP 2025 for the second year in a row.
