On October 25th, JŌNETSU MAX will be defending the GHC Tag Team Championship’s in a colossal three-way match against the Good Brothers and freshly reunited TMDK tandem of Shane Haste and the returning Mikey Nicholls.

The title match at the Ryogoku Kokugikan will mark Mikey Nicholls first match back in a NOAH ring since 2016 prior to he and Haste’s time competing for WWE’s NXT.

Ahead of the championship bout, there was a non-title preview three-way tag that took place in Hodogaya on October 20th, with KENTA teaming with Haste against JŌNETSU MAX and the Good Brothers.

During the match after the Good Brothers planted Haste with their signature Magic Killer, a wild Mikey Nicholls appeared and came to the aid of his partner. After disposing the Good Brothers to the outside, Haste would score a surprise pinfall victory over Soya picking up the win for his team.

During the post-match comments, Nicholls quoted the Wizard of Oz, claiming there is no place like home before declaring that he and Haste will be the next GHC Tag Team Champions.

From Mikey Nicholls:

“You know what, someone once said you can never go home again. Well, look at this. When I tap my heels together three times and said ‘There is no place like home,’ what you’re lookin’ at is the next GHC Tag Team Champions. Shane Haste, Mikey Nicholls, TMDK. Nailed it.”

The next night Pro Wrestling NOAH held a special live interview with TMDK on their youtube channel with KENTA serving as the translator. It was clear from the moment the interview started that Nicholls and Haste were excited to be reunited aboard the Ark, back in the promotion where they hold some of their fondest memories as a team. Nicholls would say that winning the GHC Tag Titles again after thirteen years would be a full circle moment for the duo.

During the interview there was a point where Nicholls stated, “When me and Shane get together there is no one who can beat us.” and the duo will get their chance to prove just that in a few days at WRESTLE ODYSSEY II on October 25th.
