Mayu Iwatani Set to Return From Injury on Aug. 9th, Confronts Sareee at MARIGOLD BURNING DESIRE 2026

On July 30th, Marigold held BURNING DESIRE 2026 at Korakuen Hall which featured a huge main event. Sareee teamed up with Chi Chi as they faced the Marigold World Champion Miku Aono & Komomo Minami in a bout that had become somewhat personal.

Sareee & Chi Chi were victorious in the bout but their night was far from over. As they departed the ring, Victoria Yuzuki appeared and called out Chi Chi who headed back to the ring to engage in a verbal battle with Yuzuki.

Soon after, Mayu Iwatani made her presence known as she headed to the ring with her full attention focused on Sareee. Iwatani announced that she will be making her long awaited return to in-ring action on Aug. 9th at MARIGOLD SUMMER DESTINY 2026. Iwatani then suggested that she and Yuzuki face Sareee in a tag team bout at MARIGOLD SUMMER DESTINY 2026.

While the majority of fans were expecting Sareee’s partner to be Chi Chi, the star threw a curve ball at the Marigold tandem and said she will discuss the potential tag team bout with her Spark Rush partner Takumi Iroha.

Iwatani has been out since early May with a broken toe and her confirmed return to action on Aug. 9th is welcome news for Marigold as they have seen many of its stars miss considerable in-ring competition due to injury.
