Mayu Iwatani Reveals Who She Feels Is The Best Wrestler In Marigold

By: Lewis Carlan

Back in May 2025, Joshi Puroresu megastar Mayu Iwatani became an official member of the Marigold roster after a long tenure with STARDOM.

Since joining Marigold, Iwatani has brought more attention to the promotion in addition to becoming a double champion as she holds the GHC Women’s and Marigold Superfly Championships.

While Marigold has an abundance of excellent competitors, Iwatani has revealed who she feels is currently the best wrestler in the promotion.

Iwatani recently spoke with Encount and stated that she feels the best wrestler in Marigold is Victoria Yuzuki.

From Mayu Iwatani:

“I always mention Victoria Yuzuki. She’s a genius. Honestly, I think wrestling is her calling. I envy her. To be that young and already move like that, she’s going to be incredible.”

Victoria Yuzuki is only 20 years old and has been called by many as the future of Joshi Puroresu. She is currently the Marigold United National Champion.

While in Marigold, Iwatani has faced Yuzuki in two singles matches. In May 2025, Iwatani defeated Yuzuki to win the Marigold Superfly Title. In Sept 2025, the two battled to a fifteen minute draw at the Marigold Dream Star Grand Prix 2025 tournament.

When Mayu Iwatani steps away from in-ring competition, Victoria Yuzuki could very well be the one to fill the huge void that would be left in the world of Joshi Puroresu.
