Mayu Iwatani Receives Multiple Tributes Following Her Departure From STARDOM

The world of professional wrestling was hit with shockwaves today as Mayu Iwatani announced that she is leaving STARDOM after being with the company for fourteen years.

Iwatani, one of the best pro-wrestlers in the world, has been the face of STARDOM for many, many years. A world in which Iwatani was not part of the STARDOM roster didn’t seem to be a possibility until today as she announced during a press conference that she had competed in her final match for the top Joshi Puroresu company on April 27th.

There were many heartfelt comments from various individuals made on social media today as its very apparent that Iwatani will be missed within STARDOM.

From Saya Iida:

“There are so many memories I have with Mayu-san to talk about. I was afraid that this day would come someday, but after watching the press conference and seeing Mayu-san as her usual self, I felt somehow relieved. Just one thing to say Thank you so so much. Leave STARDOM to me. Take care!!”

From Hanan:

“Ever since I heard about Mayu-san’s departure, I’ve been thinking about STARS and STARDOM more than ever before. If this is the choice that will make Mayu-san happier than she is now, then I have nothing to say. I will carry on the STARDOM that Mayu-san has continued to show me. Thank you for everything up until now.”

From AZM:

“You will always be the senior I love and aspire to surpass Farewell, Mayu-san.”

From Koguma:

“The benchmark in my mind has always been Mayu-san. Farewell.”
