Mayu Iwatani Confronts GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha On Monday Magic

Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Monday Magic aired its final episode of its Xtreme Season on Oct.27th at Shinkiba 1st Ring in Tokyo.

One of the featured bouts was a GHC Women’s Championship match as the current titleholder Takumi Iroha made her fourth defense against Risa Sera.

It took Iroha almost 10 minutes to put Sera away and retain her GHC Women’s Championship in another successful defense.

It was following the match where things got very interesting. As Iroha was in the midst of celebrating her victory, the Marigold Superfly champion Mayu Iwatani, just 24 hours removed from her epic match with IYO SKY, appeared and confronted Iroha.

Iwatani and Iroha came face to face which had the crowd buzzing. Despite not saying any words Iwatani made it clear that she wants the GHC Women’s Championship.

During her post-match backstage interview, Iroha finished her comments with a sentence aimed at Iwatani:

“I was thrilled to have a singles match with Risa Sera before her retirement. I hope she avoids further injury and steps down from the ring on her own two feet. And to Mayu Iwatani: as the GHC Women’s Champion, I’ll take on anyone, anytime.” (Translated via Deepl.com)

While a match between the two has not yet been made official, it’s a safe bet that Mayu Iwatani will have her opportunity to become the first competitor to hold both the IWGP Women’s Championship and GHC Women’s Championship.

An announcement to make the GHC Women’s Title match between Takumi Iroha and Mayu Iwatani is expected to be made official in the near future.
