Mayu Iwatani Clashes With Senka Akatsuki At Debut Episode Of Marvelous “FRIDAY NIGHT GACHA”

Marvelous debuted its new show FRIDAY NIGHT GACHA on Oct. 3rd at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo.

The episodic FRIDAY NIGHT GACHA is produced by Chigusa Nagayo, who is the President of Marvelous, and uses the same format as Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Monday Magic in which the matches remain a mystery until the wrestlers are introduced.

To kick off the inaugural edition of FRIDAY NIGHT GACHA, Nagayo needed a special bout to present the fans watching and she delivered big time.

The opening match was an encounter the fans have been clamouring to see as the current Marigold Super Flyweight Champion and Icon Mayu Iwatani went one on one for the first time against Marvelous blue chip prospect and future superstar Senka Akatsuki.

The two had a fantastic match that saw Akatsuki’s intensity on display from the opening bell. Akatsuki gave Iwatani a running shoulder tackle as the Icon was in the midst of her baseball throwing pre-match routine.

Iwatani and Akatsuki went at it back and forth as the crowd appeared to be behind Akatsuki as they chanted her name throughout the match.

Mayu Iwatani ended the match at the 8:35 mark after landing a moonsault press onto Akatsuki for the victory.

In other action, the Super Asia Champion Rina Yamashita & Spike Nishimura defeated the duo of AAAW Champion & GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha & Sendai Girls Jr Heavyweight Champion YUNA. Nishimura put YUNA away after delivering a Spike Driver.

•  Chikayo Nagashima, Hanako Nakamori , Miyuki Takase & Honoka defeat Mio Momono, Rina Amikura , Valentina Rossi & Misa Kagura (11:42) after a Japanese Leg-Roll Clutch Hold by Honoka against Momono.
