Marvelous Star Riko Kawahata Is Confident She Will Become A Marigold Double Champion On July 16th

On July 16th, Marigold’s Burning Desire 2025 tour will roll into Korakuen Hall with a six match card of Joshi Puroresu action. The Marigold vs Marvelous feud will be front and center as four of the matches will see competitors from both promotions facing off against each other.

One of the bouts will see Mai Sakurai defending her Marigold United National Championship against Marvelous star Riko Kawahata. Kawahata and her tag team partner Maria are the current Marigold Tag Team Champions and they defeated Sakurai and Chanyota on June 17th. Kawahata pinned Sakurai in the match to set up their July 16th showdown for the Marigold United National Championship.

Kawahata took to X and confidently vowed that she will become a double Marigold champion on July 16th by defeating Sakurai for her championship belt.

From Riko Kawahata:

“Tomorrow is the day I become a double champion.  My pink pants got totally wrecked, so I’m going with this style instead. A pitch-black costume with a white belt is gonna look insanely cool, right?  A white costume with a white belt just blends together, doesn’t it? Well, it’s all about which one suits me better, yeah?”

Kawahata has played a pivotal role for Marvelous in it’s rivalry with Marigold as she has scored a number of huge victories for her respective promotion. We will find out in a few hours if she will score another big win and earn another Marigold Championship for Marvelous.
