Marigold Superstar Seri Yamaoka Confirms Her Return to In-Ring Action, Issues an Emotional Statement on X

By: Lewis Carlan

Back on May 28th, Marigold superstar Seri Yamaoka dislocated her shoulder after delivering a dropkick to Maddy Morgan during a British Empire Women’s World Championship bout at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. After the injury, Yamaoka revealed that she had been susceptible to shoulder dislocations since she was in middle school but had always opted not to have surgery.

This time, Yamaoka opted to get the surgery she required on her shoulder. The operation took place on June 9th and Yamaoka was expected to miss six months of in-ring action.

Well, her time away from Marigold will be one month less than anticipated which is great news for the promotion. Yamaoka appeared at the Oct. 10th Marigold BATTLE HEART 2026 event at Korakuen Hall and announced that she will be making her return to pro-wresting competition on Oct. 24th at Marigold GRAND DESTINY 2026.

Seri Yamaoka took to X and issued an emotional statement regarding her return and time away from the ring. She revealed she felt down and struggled at times while away but credited the fans support which keep her moving forward.

From Seri Yamaoka:

“I’d like to make another announcement! I’ll be making my return at the Ryogoku Kokugikan event on October 24!! It’s been about five months since I took a break from the ring on May 28. This time away has been a valuable opportunity for me to reflect on myself, identify areas I need to improve, and learn many things I only realized after stepping away from the ring. There were times when I struggled and felt down, but it was only thanks to the support of those around me and all my fans that I was able to keep moving forward and do my best. Thank you so much! Thanks to you all, my recovery has been going smoothly, and I’m truly delighted to be stepping back into the ring. I’ll do my absolute best to make the most of what I’ve learned during this hiatus and show you a Seirei Yamaoka who has grown even stronger! October 24, Ryogoku Kokugikan! Please come and witness my comeback match! I look forward to your continued support!” (Translated via Deepl.com)

The return of Seri Yamaoka will be a huge boost for Marigold as they have struggled with injuries and talent departures throughout 2026. Hopefully, Yamaoka is 100% healthy and not rushing back to in-ring action. As of this writing, Seri Yamaoka’s opponent for her return bout has not been revealed.
