One third of the Marigold 3D Trios Champions Erina Yamanaka will be out of action for the foreseeable future due to an eye injury. She suffered the injury on April 11th at the Marigold event in Osaka.
Yamanaka teamed with Natsumi Showzuki and faced Mayu Iwatani & Yuuka Yamazaki on April 11th when the injury occurred during the course of the match.
After being examined at a nearby hospital, it was determined that Yamanaka sustained a fracture of her orbital floor.
Yamanaka was set to face Utami Hayashishita in a singles bout in April 14th but that match has been changed to a tag team encounter.
Yamanaka released a statement on social media expressing her disappointment about not being able to face Hayashishita in singles competition due to the injury.
From Erina Yamanaka:
I’ll be taking some time off! At my age, opportunities like this don’t come along very often, and I was truly honored to have the chance to compete in a singles match against Utami. I’ll keep working hard so I can seize another chance on “The Challenge”. First, I’m going to focus on getting fully recovered, so please wait for me!! (English quote translation via Deepl.com)
Everyone at Monthly Puroresu wishes Erina Yamanaka a speedy recovery and hopes to see her back in the ring soon.
