Maki Itoh Reveals She Is Nervous But Excited About Participating In Her First STARDOM 5★STAR GP Tournament

On July 18th, the STARDOM 5★STAR GP Tournament is set to begin at the Ota City General Gymnasium. The tournament will be broken into four divisions, the Red Stars A & B Blocks and the Blue Stars A & B Blocks.

Maki Itoh, who officially joined STARDOM on Jan. 10th, will be participating in her first 5★STAR GP Tournament. A press conference was held on July 12 as participants of the tournament were on hand to give their final comments before the 5★STAR GP kicks off and Itoh offered her remarks on making her debut in the tournament.

Itoh revealed that she is nervous but excited about competing in her first 5★STAR GP and feels it will give her a showcase for fans to see what makes her a special pro-wrestler.

“It’s been half a year since I joined Stardom. This is my first 5★STAR, and while I’m a little nervous, I’m also really excited because it’s a chance to truly showcase what makes Maki Itoh so special. By the time this 5★STAR is over, I’m sure Maki Itoh will be even more popular, and I have a feeling the Itoh Respect Army will have taken another big leap forward, so I’m really looking forward to it.” (English translation via Deepl.com)

Itoh has been placed in the Red Stars B Block and her first tournament bout will be on July 19th at Loisir Hotel Toyohashi Holiday Hall against Mei Seira. Also included in Itoh’s block are Saya Iida, Lady C, Rina Yamashita, Konami, Azusa Inaba & Utami Hayashishita. It will be very hard task for Itoh to win her block with all the tough competitors that make up the Red Stars B Block but she appears poised and ready for the challenge.
