Maika Defeats Skye Blue at Forbidden Door, Joins Survival of the Fittest on AEW Dynamite

At the Buy-In for AEW Forbidden Door, the final spot in the Survival of the Fittest match to crown the new TBS Champion. Representing STARDOM at the crossover event, Maika bested Skye Blue to fill the last space in the match-up.

In a very hard-hitting affair that had STARDOM President Taro Okada watching on from ringside, Maika defeated Blue with the Michinoku Driver II to seal the victory. She now slots into Survival of the Fittest alongside Harley Cameron, Hikaru Shida, Persephone, Kris Statlander and Queen Aminata.

The Survival of the Fittest is a stipulation that has a long history in Ring of Honor. The match begins with six competitors, with eliminations via pinfall and submission until one person remains. The first female iteration of the match happened at this year’s Supercard of Honor event. The match on Dynamite will be the first one to appear on AEW programming.

Forbidden Door marked Maika’s AEW debut, with Survival of the Fittest set to be her first appearance on AEW television. AEW Dynamite with Maika and Survival of the Fittest takes place on Wednesday, July 1st.
