Mai Sakurai States Marigold Is Lacking a Face of The Promotion

Mai Sakurai has been with Marigold since the promotion’s inaugural event Marigold Fields Forever in May 2024. Sakurai has enjoyed great success with Marigold as she is a former Marigold Twin Star Champion. Marigold United National Champion and is currently one third of the Marigold 3D Trios Champions.

It’s no secret that Marigold has been struggling the last few months mainly due to multiple injuries to a number of its major stars. Sakurai has expressed a concern as she feels that Marigold is lacking that crucial face of the promotion. She said she is working her hardest to become the ace of Marigold.

From Mai Sakurai:

“Honestly, I don’t think there’s anyone you can call the ‘face’ of the company right now. Some wrestlers are out injured, and while Mayu (Iwatani) is a star, she isn’t a founding member. It’d be a problem if she became the ‘face’ just yet. Ever since I had no belts, I’ve been working my hardest to become the ace of Marigold. Mai Sakurai, Natsumi Showzuki & Erina Yamanaka will defend the Marigold 3D Trios Championships against Darkness Revolution on Aug. 9th at MARIGOLD SUMMER DESTINY 2026 at EBARA WAVE Arena in Ota City.
