Mai Sakurai Reveals Her Marigold Unit La Vie en Rose Could Add More Members In The Future

By: Lewis Carlan

Back on Feb. 23rd, Mai Sakurai, Natsumi Showzuki & Erina Yamanaka A.K.A. La Vie en Rose made history when they won a tournament to become the inaugural Marigold 3D Trios Champions. They defeated the Darkness Revolution trio of Misa Matsui, Nagisa Nozaki & Rea Seto to be the first trio unit to ever hold the titles.

La Vie en Rose have proved to be fighting champions as they have successfully defended the 3D Trios Championship twice since winning the belts. Their latest victory was on March 29th when they turned back the challenge of the “Super Rookie” trio of Seri Yamaoka, Yuuka Yamazaki & Shinno.

After their victory, Sakurai spoke with Tokyo Sports about a number of topics. Sakurai stated that she wants to use the 3D Trios Title to help re-vitalize Marigold while praising Yamaoka, Yamazaki & Shinno.

From Mai Sakurai:

“Even though the three of them today have only recently debuted, they already possess the skills to challenge for the title, and I was reminded once again how reliable they are. I think this belt offers more opportunities for challenges than a singles title, so on my road to defending it, I want any wrestler—whether a rookie or a young talent—to come and challenge me. I want to use this belt to revitalize Marigold.”

Sakurai also indicated that she feels its a very good possibility that La Vie en Rose could add more members to the unit in the near future:

From Mai Sakurai:

“We’re basically free to do as we please. We just want to do fun things. So I think it might be nice to add more members, and since I often team up with outside wrestlers, there’s a possibility that connections could expand from there as well. I want us to be a presence that’s constantly evolving so the fans never get bored.”

When Sakurai mentioned that she often teams up with “outside” wrestlers, one has to think if that is a veiled reference to MIRAI. Sakurai and MIRAI have team up countless times over the years and are former Marigold Twin Star Champions. MIRAI left Marigold in Oct. 2025 and is now a member of the Michinoku Pro Wrestling roster.

MIRAI could be an excellent addition to La Vie en Rose given her history with Sakurai but only time will tell if this is to become a reality.
