KUSHIDA Sees Strength in NJPW Overseas Partnerships, Suggests SGW

By: R. Faliani

KUSHIDA’s road in the Best of the Super Juniors is a highlight in the tournament because it feels like the former Junior Ace wants to go back to his throne as the most dominant force in the Junior division, and he’s proving it because he has already defeated both Hiromu Takahashi and SHO, the current IWGP Junior Champion. It seems like KUSHIDA’s return to New Japan Pro Wrestling has caught the Junior division on sight, but now, based on a Tokyo Sports report KUSHIDA wants more than just the BOSJ. He wants the company to be a global sensation, and he’s interested in what’s happening in SGW, the Ugandan wrestling promotion that has gone viral.

KUSHIDA is a wrestler who has explored the world in recent years. After leaving New Japan to go to WWE NXT his stint in the company motivated him to go back to the drawing board and see what he could do to up his game. After his release, KUSHIDA could have come back to Japan, but instead, he choose to stay in America working for TNA alongside the Motor City Machine Guns. His return to Japan is just something that was a matter of time, but in said country, KUSHIDA declared his intentions to build New Japan as a company that can invest and work together with smaller companies from territories that have not been explored. Something akin to NJPW doing shows in Taiwan, but for Uganda alongside SGW.
