Kouki Amarei Comments On Losing The GHC Women’s Title To Takumi Iroha

By: Lewis Carlan

Kouki Amarei walked into the latest episode of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Monday Magic as the GHC Women’s Champion making her second defense of the title against Takumi Iroha.

Unfortunately for Amarei, her second title defense would be her last as Iroha defeated her and became the new GHC Women’s Champion.

Amarei was visibly shaken and upset at being dethroned for the GHC Women’s Championship.

Amarei won the title back in Nov. 2024 and made one defense against Chika Goto back in Jan. 2025 before suffering an injury which sidelined her for a few months.

During her post-match backstage interview, Amarei gave a lengthy statement concerning her loss and hinting that her being out with an injury may have played a part in her no longer having the GHC Women’s Title in her possession.

From Kouki Amarei:

This was my second GHC Women’s title defense. Honestly, I keep thinking stuff like, if I hadn’t been out with an injury, I could’ve had way more defenses, or if I hadn’t been sidelined I probably could’ve beaten Takumi Iroha without any problem. I know it’s pointless to dwell on those kinds of what-ifs, but I can’t help it.
Still, Takumi was someone I had always wanted to face, and even though it happened under these circumstances, I finally got the match. To be completely honest—like, really honest—today was incredibly fun. I lost, but I had such a great time. Even though I lost the belt, I came away from this feeling like I want to become even stronger—and that I can become stronger. Today reaffirmed that for me. I cried when I won the belt, and I cried when I lost it. I really didn’t plan on crying, but the fans at Monday Magic were all so warm and encouraging. Everyone was cheering me on, telling me to do my best—and because of those voices, I want to get stronger and stronger. And I will win back the GHC Women’s Championship from Takumi Iroha. Thank you so much.”

Despite losing today, Amarei has vowed to become stronger and to win back the GHC Women’s Championship from Iroha. I’m sure Iroha would be more than happy in giving Amarei a shot at her newly won GHC Women’s Title in the near future.
