As NJPW head towards Destruction in Kobe, Kosei Fujita has made it no secret that he has desires for Aaron Wolf’s NEVER Openweight Championship. In the main event in Korakuen Hall, Fujita pulled off a victory over the champion, which is sure to help his contendership case.

Fujita teamed with G1 Climax winner and TMDK stablemate Ryohei Oiwa to take on Wolf and Taichi. Fujita did not wait for his chance to strike, brawling with Wolf at ringside before the bell even rang. Once the action finally reached the ring, the two continued to go at each other. Fujita proved the spirit of the openweight title, managing to hoist the bigger, heavyweight Wolf up and over into a German suplex hold, scoring the three-count.
