Konami Reveals That She Was Livid At Sareee’s Criticism Of STARDOM Ahead Of Their 5★STAR GP Match

The STARDOM 5★STAR GP 2025 tournament got underway on July 27th at the Ota City General Gymnasium. In a Blue Star B block match, in what could be considered an upset, Konami defeated the current IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee to earn her first two points of the tournament. The referee stopped the bout at the 13:24 mark as Konami had a Doujime Sleeper Hold locked on to Sareee who was unable to escape.

Sareee had been at odds with members of the STARDOM H.A.T.E. unit which includes Konami. Saya Kamitani & Momo Watanabe.

Back on July 24th at Korakuen Hall, H.A.T.E. faction members Saya Kamitani, Momo Watanabe & Konami defeated the trio of Sareee, Chi Chi & Miku Kanae. After the match had ended, the H.A.T.E. team proceeded to attack Sareee, Chi Chi & Kanae to send a message of their perceived superiority.

Sareee had vowed to gain revenge on Konami at the 5★STAR GP for the July 24th attack but unfortunately any attempt at payback was thwarted by Konami who prevailed.

Konami spoke with Tokyo Sports following her victory and revealed that she was angered at Sareee for her constant criticism of STARDOM during the past few weeks leading up to the 5★STAR GP 2025.

From Konami:

“This girl who was in a different promotion a year ago just came to STARDOM. She didn’t really go through any hardships, and she didn’t contribute anything to STARDOM, she just said she wanted the IWGP belt and snatched it away, I couldn’t forgive her for that. Anyone who underestimates us, we need to teach them the harshness and severity of the STARDOM ring. Today, I won without using any weapons. Sareee hasn’t even brought out everything I’ve got yet. I’ll give her some advice — she’d better start approaching this with a greater sense of urgency.”

Losing to Konami has got to be a tough pill to swallow for Sareee who had vowed to make Konami pay for the July 24th attack. The loss could be a wake-up call for Sareee as it’s a distinct possibility that she may be underestimating the competitors within STARDOM.

Sareee’s next tournament match comes against Ranna Yagami on August 1st. The odds are Sareee will enter that match with a sense of urgency as she could be in big trouble if she loses two tournament matches in a row.

As for gaining revenge for July 24th, Sareee has a Blue Star B Block match with Momo Watanabe down the road and you can bet Sareee has that bout marked on her calendar.
