Fresh off the heels of the N1 VICTORY tournament, Pro Wrestling NOAH were at the Ryogoku Kokugikan to host the tournament winner’s world title challenge. With a card that featured talent from all over the wrestling world, Masa Kitamiya took on the GHC Heavyweight Champion, KENTA.
Kitamiya defeated Jack Morris in the finals of the N1 VICTORY, winning the tournament for the first time in his career. KENTA was in the opposite block to Kitamiya in the tournament. Picking up three losses in his N1 campaign, KENTA has not had a stellar singles record as of late. With those losses in mind, KENTA walked into WRESTLE ODDYSEY looking like a beatable champion. But doubting KENTA is always a risk.
Kitamiya tested the champion, but KENTA dropped him onto the point of his knee and made Kitamiya go to sleep. KENTA vanquished his challenger and stays on top of the Pro Wrestling NOAH pyramid. A new challenger made themselves known following the main event bout. Yoshiki Inamura returned to Pro Wrestling NOAH sporting a cowboy hat, coming off of his run in the United States with NXT. A match between KENTA and Inamura has been announced for November 8th in Korakuen Hall.
Other titles were on the line at WRESTLE ODYSSEY, too. The GHC Junior Tag Team Championships changed hands in Ryogoku, as Daga and Daiki Odashima bested Dragon Bane and Alpha Wolf. Elsewhere in the junior division, Hiromu Takahashi defeated Eita to keep hold of the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship.
