Big Japan Pro-Wrestling held its BIG JAPAN 31 BEYOND THE SURVIVOR event on April 29th at the Yokohama Budokan with a crowd of 1,255 fans in attendance.
The main event featured Daimonji So defending the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Title against the challenge of Kazumasa Yoshida. Yoshida had an opportunity at BJW’s top championship back in January but was unsuccessful as he lost to Daimonji So.
Despite being the underdog, Yoshida made the most of his second opportunity in three months as he overcame a psychological disadvantage to shock everyone in attendance by defeating Daimonji So and becoming the 25th BJW World Strong Heavyweight Champion.
With the crowd behind him throughout the bout, Yoshida hit a few Tombstone Piledrivers on Daimonji So to end the match at the 33:38 mark and emerged as the new champion.
Yoshida took to X and thanked the fans for cheering him on during the match.
From Kazumasa Yoshida:
“I did it! Thank you to everyone who cheered me on.”
