Katsuhiko Nakajima is Leaving Pro-Wrestling NOAH

Katsuhiko Nakajima’s Last NOAH Match Scheduled for 10.28.23

By: Thom Fain

It was announced early on Tuesday in Tokyo that AXIZ member and two-time GHC Heavyweight Champion Katsuhiko Nakajima has terminated his contract with NOAH, with a tag-team match alongside Go Shiozaki scheduled against Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura scheduled as his final bout in the emerald promotion on the 28th of October.

It’s a somewhat shocking development for one of NOAH’s most marketable stars, coming off two N1-Tournament victories in the past four* years and a heavily promoted tag-team alongside this year’s winner in Shiozaki.

Nakajima was a critical part of the heavyweight title scene for most of the post-pandemic era in NOAH. He wrestled several inter-promotional matches this year, perhaps most notably against Los Ingobernales de Japon during Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Yokohama.

No reason was given for his sudden departure, but MP has reached out to NOAH for comment and will be in touch with representatives of Nakajima for more on this development as soon as possible.
