Katsuhiko Nakajima & Junya Matsunaga Set to Team at ZERO1’s Urayasu Event on 5/2

On May 2nd Pro Wrestling ZERO1 will head to the Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay in Urayasu for an event headlined by Katsuhiko Nakajima & Junya Matsunaga joining forces to battle Hayabusa & Masato Tanaka.

The special tag team match was made official after ZERO1’s 25th Anniversary event on April 3rd, when Junya Matsunaga made good on his promise of becoming a double champion by defeating Masato Tanaka for the ZERO1 World Heavyweight Title.

After the match, Matsunaga would invite the man who defeated him back in February, Katsuhiko Nakajima, out to the ring where he would request that the two form a tag team. Nakajima, who made a surprise appearance at the 25th Anniversary event to announce his participation in the 2026 Fire Festival, would accept Matsunaga’s invitation.

After the event ZERO1 would announce on Social media that the team of Matsunaga & Nakajima would face off against Hayabusa & Masato Tanaka on May 2nd in Urayasu.

Matsunaga, Nakajima, Hayabusa & Tanaka are all participants in ZERO1’s Fire Festival 2026, making this tag match somewhat of a preview for ZERO1’s legendary tournament that is set to begin in June.

Also on the card in Urayasu, The Great Sasuke and Fuminori Abe are set to team up to challenge Yuki Toki & Van Vert Jack for the International Lightweight Tag Team Titles.
