DDT Pro Wrestling returned to the legendary Korakuen Hall on February 22nd for their HYBRID PERFORMER 2026 event. The action packed afternoon saw the conclusion of the 2026 D GENERATIONS CUP as well as a special singles match between Kaisei Takechi and Yuki Ueno, to celebrate 2 years since Takechi’s pro wrestling debut.
In the semi-main event, Kazuma Sumi and Takeshi Masada took each other to their limits in the finale of the 2026 D GENERATIONS CUP. Masada was able to keep the momentum on his side for the majority of the match, but the high-flying Sumi was able to use his speed and timing to upset Masada with a schoolboy to win the cup in (17:08).
After the match, DDT Universal Champion Daisuke Sasaki appeared to confront and attack Sumi, setting up a match for the Universal Championship at DDT’s Judgement 2026 event on March 22nd.
In a highly entertaining main event, Kaisei Takechi suffered his first singles loss of his pro wrestling career to Yuki Ueno in a fantastic match that lasted (20:50). After the match, Takechi, who refused to be defeated by the loss to Ueno, declared interest in wanting to compete in this year’s King of DDT tournament, hoping it will lead to another singles match with Ueno, maybe this time for the KO-D Openweight Championship.
In post match comments, Kaisei Takechi continued the positivity by claiming he’s glad to have suffered his first singles loss in a professional wrestling ring to his mentor and tag team partner Yuki Ueno stating:
“Honestly, I’m glad my first loss was to Mr. Ueno. I think his final words were very loving. I want to work hard so that, in a good way, I can defy expectations and win that belt in one shot.”
