Jon Moxley Announces Return to NJPW, Infuriating Shingo Takagi

By: Noah Leatherland

After defeating AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli at NJPW Destruction in Kobe, Shingo Takagi laid out a challenge to Jon Moxley. At King of Pro Wrestling, Takagi got his answer, with a video message from Moxley appearing on the screens after his match.

Takagi teamed with Daiki Nagai at KOPW, where they defeated the tandem of Hirooki Goto and Tatsuya Matsumoto. Takagi picked up the win by mimicking Moxley, dropping Matsumoto with a Death Rider to setup the pinfall.

Takagi’s celebrations were interrupted by a video on the big screen, with Moxley appearing, flanked by Marina Shafir.

In his post-match comments, Takagi addressed Moxley, infuriated that his name wasn’t even mentioned in the video message:

Ah, this really pisses me off! What’s this, Mox? Just when I thought you’d finally sent the video, there’s not even a single ‘ta’ from Shingo Takagi in it. Not even a single ‘shi’ from Shingo! Hey, you’re taking me for granted, aren’t you?! You’re coming to Japan, aren’t you?! You’re coming to Japan, aren’t you?! Well, then I’ll be the one to take you on!

As of writing, an official announcement of when and where Moxley will return to NJPW has not been made. Following KOPW, NJPW are set to embark on the Super Junior Tag League tour, culminating at the big Power Struggle event on November 3rd.
