Is Mayu Iwatani Overconfident Going Into Her Marigold Superfly Title Match Against Victoria Yuzuki?

On May 24th, the current Marigold Superfly Champion Victoria Yuzuki is set to defend her title against the “Icon” Mayu Iwatani.

Iwatani made it very clear on May 1st that her intention is too win every title currently available within Marigold. Her quest to achieve that goal officially begins on May 24th with her sites set on the Marigold Superfly Title.

While Iwatani has the advantage in terms of in-ring experience, the 22 year old Yuzuki has improved significantly over the past year while becoming a major player for Marigold.

Iwatani posted on X recently and gave the impression that she may be overconfident heading into her upcoming match with Yuzuki. The post began as any normal post would but ended with Iwatani proclaiming the Marigold Superfly Title will be her first belt.

Also in the post is Iwatani having a bit of light hearted fun as her name was spelled Maya on the match graphic which has since been corrected.

Hi! This is Maya from Marigold 😂.
I’ll be challenging Yuzuki for the Super Fly belt! I’m looking forward to seeing how she’s grown, 15 min. single match under 55 kg. My first belt, I’m excited ☺️

One thing is certain, despite sounding overconfident, Iwatani is not in for an easy match against Yuzuki. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Yuzuki has her fourth successful Superfly Title defense. We will find out on May 24th.
