The Casual Beauty Champion: Yuki Kamifuku On Defending The TJPW Princess Tag Team Titles

By: Pep S. Caro

TJPW completed their second tour in the United States this year and have the momentum on their side after doing a sold out on every single show of the three they did in Texas. Also, they held WRESTLE PRINCESS VI, event with a better attendance number compared to last year and where Ober Eats, team conformed by Yuki Kamifuku and Wakana Uehara, defeated Kyoraku Kyomei, team conformed by Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao, to win the TJPW Princess Tag Team Championships. What comes next is Additional Attack ’25 this October 18th at Korakuen Hall. One of the matches of the card is for those tag titles: Ober Eats (c) vs Yuna Manase and Toga. After winning the first title of her career, Yuki Kamifuku, known as the “The Casual Beauty”, is ready to defend the titles with Wakana Uehara.

A week before participating in the title defense, I was able to talk with Yuki Kamifuku and she was very kind to answer all the questions that covered a variety of topics related to her present in TJPW.

Monthly Puroresu: You kicked off the summer by facing Wakana Uehara in MLW in the United States and doing the TJPW Texas Tour. What are your thoughts on the matches you had in the United States? What are your impressions of the people you faced?

Yuki: MLW is the first US promotion that I joined but my opponent this time was Wakana. She is a girl who is still new as a wrestler so I wasn’t really nervous about it. Actually, I felt many possibilities and high potential in Texas for wrestling. Calm and big place with good air. It’s so nice to beat somebody in the ring there. LOL.

Monthly Puroresu: You then returned to Japan and competed in the Tokyo Princess Cup 12 but were eliminated by Yuki Arai. What are your thoughts after competing this year? What impressions did the current Arai leave on you?

Yuki: I hate the tournament thing! It makes me too much nervous. So, I knew it. I can’t do the best!! it happens every year!!

Yuki Arai is transforming now. Like from singing idol to just a pure wrestler. Her motivation is different from me? I don’t know!!

Monthly Puroresu: In the weeks leading up to the tag team title match, you lost in a MLW Women’s World Featherweight Title match against Shoko Nakajima in the US. What are your thoughts after the match? What impressions do you have of the current Nakajima?

Yuki: She is really good at showing herself to everybody. It doesn’t matter in which country. She is my senior, she teach me how to wrestle since my debut (in Japanese we call it senpai), so for me, facing with Shoko Nakajima is like having a wrestling exam. It makes me more nervous but at the same time, I feel I need to beat her and go beyond her.

Monthly Puroresu: At WRESTLE PRINCESS VI, Ober Eats defeated Kyoraku Kyomei to win the Princess Tag Team Championships for the first time. What are your thoughts after the match? What impressions do you have of the former champions as competitors?

Yuki: Wakana had big passion to become a champion so she really wanted to try the tag championship but she broke her teeth a few weeks before the title match. From the start, I was not in the mood for it but my mind changed to “ohh I need to do something for this poor lost teeth girl”. Maybe I got motivated then.

Monthly Puroresu: At TJPW Additional Attack ’25, Ober Eats will defend the belts against Yuna Manase and Toga. What are your expectations for this match? What are your impressions of the challengers as competitors?

Yuki: Yuna is my first tag team partner and also my first singles match opponent. We tried to get the titles together, but we couldn’t get them. But this time I have the belt with Wakana, Yuna is a challenger… I need to beat her with big respect and being thankful.

Toga? Umm Hey! Good luck, youth!! Haha!

Monthly Puroresu: Thank you so much for participating in this interview. Finally, do you have any message for your fans and the TJPW fans reading this?

Yuki: Yo! Are you ready to worship me?
