Singing Lullabies and Having Fun in the Ring: Raku on Her Present in TJPW

TJPW is making history this weekend as they will celebrate their first ever Pro Wresling show in Thailand: TJPW LIVE IN BANGKOK. The event will be celebrated at The Circus Studio in Bangkok on December 13th. One of the matches of the card is the first ever defense of the SETUP IWA JAPAN Tag Team Championships of the new Champions: Miyu Yamashita and Kaya Toribami (c) vs Raku and Pom Harajuku.

Raku is a member of the idol group Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) and it’s also a former Champion in SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling, logistic partner of TJPW for this tour in Thailand.

A week before participating in the title defense, I was able to talk with Raku, a year later after our first interview, and she was very kind to answer all the questions that covered a variety of topics related to her present in TJPW.

Monthly Puroresu: You’re part of Up Up Girls. You make the fans cheer with your music and dancing, as well as with your work in the ring. What does being part of Up Up Girls mean to you, both personally and professionally? What’s the relationship like between the group members?

Raku: Through my work as part of Up Up Girls (Pro-Wrestling), I want to become a bridge that delivers the charm of both idols and professional wrestling to the world.
Among the members, there are times when we unite tightly as we prepare for live shows, and days when we have to compete against each other in the ring. But at our core, everyone loves doing fun and silly things, so lately we’ve all been singing parody songs together!

Monthly Puroresu: You competed in the USA and Malaysia in 2025. What would you like to highlight or can tell us from each of those experiences? How was competing for those different crowds?Is there any other country that you would like to visit？

Raku: I felt that the atmosphere of the event and the way the audience enjoyed the event differed from state to state in the USA!
The way they enjoy it is a bit similar, and I am very happy when I hear loud cheers and when I can feel that they are enjoying themselves with us!

Another country I would like to visit and see is Taiwan! I recently traveled there alone and thought it was such a wonderful place, so I would love to wrestle there! And I definitely want to go back to England again!

Monthly Puroresu: You will be returning to Thailand in December to team with Pom Harajuku and challenge Miyu Yamashita and Kaya Toribami for the SETUP World Tag Team Titles. What has the preparation process been like and what do you think of them as competitors? Do you have sightseeing plans for Bangkok?

Raku: Yamashita-san is my senior who taught me the charm of pro-wrestling. On the day of my first singles match with her, I was filled with tears during her entrance. My whole life came to my mind and I felt the meaning of my standing here. From that day on, I was determined to be a professional wrestler.

Toribami-san has incredible athletic ability, and you never know what move is coming or from where she might fly, so that’s something I’m very cautious about when preparing.

When the two of them became champions, I felt genuinely happy for them. At the same time, because SETUP is a promotion I feel deeply connected to, I also felt strongly that I couldn’t afford to fall behind.

In Bangkok, there is a brand that I like and a pop-up store is just being held, so I want to go visit them!

Monthly Puroresu: We want to know a little more about Raku. Could you please tell us about your hobbies?What is a normal day in your life like when you don’t have a match?

Raku: My hobbies are reading picture books and watching airplanes at the airport!
On days when I don’t have a match, I like to go to the library and spend time reading, studying, and relaxing. I also like to look at the sky, so I go to the airport and listen to music while watching my favorite airplanes. When I do that, picture book stories come to mind. I also like to draw picture books! Recently I have been thinking about painting watercolors!

Monthly Puroresu: You have faced international talent like Vert Vixen, Zara Zahker, Nor Diana and Matcha this year. Is there any opponent from around the world that you haven’t faced yet that you would like to face? What kind of match would you like to have?

Raku: I would love to wrestle J-Rod, who recently came to TJPW!
When we hung out, she sang a song, so I want to sing together with her. I feel like our connection could turn into an unbeatable power!

Also, I’m close friends with JENEY from SETUP, so I’d love to team up with her someday.

Monthly Puroresu:Thank you for participating in this interview. Finally, do you have any message for your fans and TJPW fans around the world?

Raku: Thank you always for riding along with me!
I want my matches to make you feel like, “Today was a wonderful day,” and I’ll keep carrying lots of happiness with me as I move forward.
I’ll do my best to become your personal “Doctor Yellow” of happiness!
