Experiences That Shaped Me: Yoshiki Inamura On His Present In NOAH

By: Pep S. Caro

Pro Wrestling NOAH keeps their momentum in 2026 with Yoshiki Inamura in the top of the Ark as the GHC Heavyweight Champion. NOAH celebrated a new event in Korakuen Hall on February 11 main evented by Inamura and Takashi Sugiura of Team 2000X in a hard hitting bout for the GHC Heavyweight title.

After participating in this title defense against one of the toughtest members of the roster, I was able to interview Yoshiki, and he was very kind to answer all the questions that covered a variety of topics.

Monthly Puroresu:
You celebrated three months as GHC Heavyweight Champion. What did winning the Championship mean to you? What are your thoughts on Kenta as a competitor?

Yoshiki Inamura:
This is the best moment of my career so far. And this is the beginning of my career as the champion YOSHIKI INAMURA. KENTA is an incredible wrestler who will always be strong.

Monthly Puroresu:
In your first title defense, you defeated Kaito Kiyomiya. You had a rematch in 2024. What are your thoughts on your match with Kiyomiya? What are your thoughts on Kiyomiya as a competitor?

Yoshiki Inamura:
It was a really fun match. Waging against Kiyomiya is always fun. He has techniques that I don’t have, so I challenge him with things he doesn’t have in order to surpass him. Kaito Kiyomiya is currently the most skilled wrestler in Japan.

Monthly Puroresu:
At NOAH The New Year, you defeated Ozawa. What are your thoughts on your match with Ozawa? What are your thoughts on Ozawa as a competitor?

Yoshiki Inamura:
It was a difficult match. It was tricky because I had to fight without letting my opponent get into the rhythm. OZAWA is entertaining, popular, and charismatic. He’s a bit of a weird guy, though.

Monthly Puroresu:
At the first event at Korakuen Hall in 2026, you defeated Masa Kitamiya. What are your thoughts on your match with Kitamiya? What are your thoughts on Kitamiya as a competitor?

Yoshiki Inamura:
It was a tough match. Kitamiya is a great “brother” who lets me test and prove my own toughness.

Monthly Puroresu:
At both Nippon Budokan and Korakuen Hall, you attempted to nominate Kenoh as your next challenger, but on both occasions, Team 2000-X prevented the match from taking place. What are your thoughts on Team 2000-X?

Yoshiki Inamura:
It’s true that they’ve really made NOAH more exciting, but I think the fans want to see head-on matches, not matches full of their interference.

Monthly Puroresu:
You defended your title against Takashi Sugiura some days ago. What are your thoughts on Sugiura as a competitor?

Yoshiki Inamura:
My idol. He is why I wrestle in NOAH.

Monthly Puroresu:
You debuted at MONDAY MAGIC teaming with Titus Alexander against Kaito Kiyomiya and Iker Navarro. How does competing at MONDAY MAGIC differ from competing at a regular Pro Wrestling NOAH event?

Yoshiki Inamura:
It was a magical match. The atmosphere there was unique and fun.

Monthly Puroresu:
Titus is the current GHC Hardcore Champion and defeated you at N-1 2024. Whether for a GHC title or not, would you be interested in a singles match with Titus?

Yoshiki Inamura:
He’s an amazing wrestler. I lost to him, so I’d love to have a rematch and win someday, no matter how.

Monthly Puroresu:
Your mic work has been highly praised, delivering promos that involve speaking in Japanese and English. How difficult has it been for you to develop this style?

Yoshiki Inamura:
Actually easy. Because this is my style.

Monthly Puroresu:
You are a very well-rounded wrestler, drawing on what you learned at the NOAH dojo, your time with PROGRESS in Europe, and your time in NXT in the US. What do you think each of these experiences has contributed to making you the Yoshiki Inamura we see today?

Yoshiki Inamura:
Every experience was useful and has shaped me. I was conscious of not wasting a single one. I want to go anywhere I can learn something new.

Monthly Puroresu:
We’d like to get to know you a little better. Could you tell us about your hobbies?

Yoshiki Inamura:
Animals, movies, and music.

Monthly Puroresu:
When you don’t have a professional wrestling event, what’s a typical day like for you?

Yoshiki Inamura:
I spend time at home with my cat, watching movies, and listening to music.

Monthly Puroresu:
Are there any NXT wrestlers you’d like to see experience NOAH? Are there any NOAH wrestlers you’d like to see experience NXT?

Yoshiki Inamura:
The wrestler I want to see succeed in NOAH is Dark State. The wrestler I want to see succeed in NXT is Kaito Kiyomiya.

Monthly Puroresu:
Thank you for participating in this interview. Finally, do you have a message for your fans?

Yoshiki Inamura:
Thank you! I’ll continue to work hard so that people will watch me in many NOAH matches. I look forward to wrestling many more matches around the world.

You can watch Pro Wrestling NOAH events live and on VOD in Wrestle Universe.
