Hiroshi Tanahashi’s Final Four Match Countdown Highlights NJPW Road To Tokyo Dome Tour

The New Japan Pro-Wrestling Road To Tokyo Dome tour kicked off on Dec. 19th at a sold out G Messa Gunma in Takasaki.

The focus of the Road to Tokyo Dome series of  three events will be the final matches of NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi who is set to retire at Wrestle Kingdom 20.

Tanahashi wrestled his fourth to last bout as he faced Hiromu Takahashi on Dec. 19th. Even though there were a total of seven matches on the card, all 1,291 fans were there to witness on of the one of the final matches of Tanahashi’s career.

Tanahashi didn’t disappoint the fans as he defeated Takahashi at the 14:25 mark after scoring a pinfall following a High Fly Flow.

Tanahashi and Takahashi took turns raising each others arms and then embraced. Tanahashi addressed the crowd to close out the event.

Hiroshi Tanahashi has three matches left in his career and they are as follows:

• Dec. 21 – El Desperado at Light Cube Utsunomiya
• Dec. 22 – Kosei Fujita at Korakuen Hall
• Jan. 4 – Kazuchika Okada at Tokyo Dome

• Yujiro Takahashi, DOUKI & SHO defeated El Desperado, KUUKAI & Katsuya Murashima(8:58) after an Italian Stretch No.32 by DOUKI against Murashima.
• “King of Darkness” EVIL, Ren Narita, SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura, Taichi & Satoshi Kojima (8:52) when Kojima was disqualified.
• Yota Tsuji, Shingo Takagi & Gedo defeated Great-O-Khan, Callum Newman & Jacob Austin Young (11:06) when Young was disqualified.
• Zack Sabre Jr., Ryohei Oiwa, Hartley Jackson & Kosei Fujita defeated Yuto-Ice, OSKAR, Taiji Ishimori & Daiki Nagai (11:30) after a Death Valley Bomb from Jackson against Nagai.
• Hiroshi Tanahashi Final Road ~ Enishi: Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Hiromu Takahashi(14:25) with the High Fly Flow.
