After being pulled from multiple AJPW events following his win over Masato Tanaka at MONDAY MAGIC INSIDE OUT SEASON ep2, Hikaru Sato has been forced to relinquish the GHC Hardcore Title before his first defense of the championship.
After winning the title in a brutal match with Tanaka, Sato was unable to stand on his own, requiring help from a ringside attendant to help him backstage and even hold him up during his post-match interview.
Due to Sato’s injury, the planned 3-way match for the GHC Hardcore Title scheduled for WRESTLE MAGIC 2026 has been changed to a singles match between Daisuke Sekimoto and Shuji Ishikawa to crown a new champion.
WRESTLE MAGIC 2026 is set to take place on June 15th at Korakuen Hall and will air as a special PPV on Wrestle UNIVERSE streaming service.
