GALENO Retains The GHC National Championship Against Will Kroos

By: Pep S. Caro

GALENO (formerly known as Galeno del Mal) returned to Pro Wrestling NOAH in June after spending a month at his home in Mexico. The GHC National Champion suffered a minor shoulder injury in his first defense against Saxon Huxley at NOAH’s 25th Anniversary show: Memorial Voyage 2025 in Ryogoku. He took a few weeks of rest and recovery in Mexico before shocking the Ark fans during the final episode of the MONDAY MAGIC Prime Time Season. At that event, GALENO made a surprising second defense against Alpha Wolf.

During GALENO’s absence, NOAH welcomed back Will Kroos, a British wrestler who competed on NOAH’s 2024 UK tour, supported by PROGRESS Wrestling. The British wrestler impressed during the UK tour and was invited to tour with NOAH in Japan. He made his debut during NOAH’s 25th Anniversary show: Memorial Voyage 2025 in Osaka, defeating Daiki Odashima. Weeks later, he faced GALENO for the first time. Both wrestlers are some of the biggest and heaviest talents on NOAH’s roster, making their matchup a big draw for fans. Kroos seized his opportunity and challenged GALENO to a match for the GHC National Championship. GALENO accepted, and the match was scheduled for Sunny Voyage on July 13.

The day finally arrived, and the giants had a tremendous clash in Gunma. The match thrilled the crowd. One of the highlights, shared numerous times on social media by fans who recorded it, was when Kroos landed a Super Spanish Fly on GALENO. A surreal move for two wrestlers over 250 pounds. Finally, GALENO landed his Michinoku Driver to win the match and reach V3 with his current reign as GHC National Champion.

After the match, GALENO had some words for his opponent and the fans of NOAH:

“I was able to show Kross who is the best.  And the best is Galeno. Kross, thank you for today. See you next time. Who’s next? And remember Viva NOAH! Viva Mexico!”
