Fuwa-chan States That Pro-Wrestling Gave Her A Dream And Will Devote Herself To Repaying That Favor.

By: Lewis Carlan

On Nov. 7th at the Goddesses of STARDOM Tag League tournament, former TV star and incredibly popular YouTube celebrity Fuwa-chan made an appearance and announced that she has officially become a member of the STARDOM roster. She confirmed that her first match is set for Dec. 29th at STARDOM DREAM QUEENDOM 2025. She had wrestled two times for STARDOM previously, once in 2022 and once in 2023. In 2022 she competed in a triple threat match in which Saya Kamitani was one of her opponents.

Fuwa-chan spoke with Tokyo Sports following her STARDOM announcement and discussed a variety of topics. She touched upon the effect pro-wrestling has had on her and what led to her joining the STARDOM roster.

From Fuwa-chan:

“The experience of putting in steady effort and having it pay off was a shocking event in my life. I also enjoyed making many new friends, and the experience of dedicating myself wholeheartedly to something became a highlight of my life. I traveled the world with the constant thought of pro-wrestling in my heart, wanting to experience once more the feeling of overcoming hardship and winning glory. When I returned to Japan and felt I was truly prepared, I spoke with STARDOM and was allowed to join.”

As she is in preparation for her Dec 29th match at STARDOM DREAM QUEENDOM 2025, Fuwa-chan explained what her intense training is like.

From Fuwa-chan:

“I go to the dojo four times a week. On long days, I sometimes practice from 11 AM to 5 PM. Right now, as a trainee, I’m learning from my seniors, starting with setting up the ring, and then doing strength training, basic wrestling, and reviewing the moves I can do. Everyone absolutely never says things like “It hurts” or “I’m tired,” so I push myself hard in practice too. My body actually hurts every day, but it’s been a long time since I’ve felt happy seeing my bruises. I realized back in my debut match that only pro-wrestlers are happy to see bruises. I want to get more bruises and turn these painful experiences into a joyful future.”

Fuwa-chan talked about being called terrible when she was practicing to become a pro-wrestler. She remembers during pro-wrestling practice being asked why she was the only who couldn’t do it.

From Fuwa-chan:

“I traveled to various places around the world to think about what I really wanted to do. I went to see WWE, and I enrolled in pro-wrestling schools overseas, like in London. I’d go to language school in the morning, and in the afternoon, I’d get beaten up by big guys. When I first debuted, people praised me as ‘good for a celebrity,’ but in places where no one knew me, I practiced while being told things like ‘You’re terrible’ or ‘why are you the only one who can’t do this?”

Fuwa-chan was asked about her current goals heading back into pro-wrestling competition. She revealed that she was inspired by Saya Kamitani and Fuwa-chan hopes that she can inspire others as well.

From Fuwa-chan:

“Seeing Kamitani-san on TV reminded me of the era when pro-wrestling was really hot, and I was inspired by her carrying the goal of spreading women’s pro-wrestling. Also, I recently heard that there’s someone in some promotion who started wrestling after watching Fuwa-chan’s wrestling matches, and that made me so happy. Just as I was inspired, if watching my pro-wrestling moves someone’s life in a positive direction, I’d be completely satisfied, and I think I’ll be able to properly overcome my own failures. It is because of pro-wrestling that I have been able to keep moving forward with goals and dreams without giving up. Pro-wrestling gave me a dream, so I will devote myself to repaying that favor.”

Fuwa-chan appears to be very serious about carving out a career as a pro-wrestling as she hopes to inspire others to follow her lead. While her opponent for STARDOM DREAM QUEENDOM 2025 has not yet been confirmed, she is training very intensely to ensure she will be ready for her return to competition against anyone who will be standing across the ring from her on Dec. 29th at Ryogoku Kokugikan.
