Full Results For NJPW G1 Climax 35 Night 9 Plus Updated Block Standings

The 35th annual New Japan Pro-Wrestling G1 Climax reached its ninth night of tournament action on August 1 at the Sun Messe Kagawa. The event featured five Block A tournament matches.

The main event of NJPW G1 Climax 35 saw Hiroshi Tanahashi, who is competing in his final G1, take on Yuya Uemura. Tanahashi was looking to earn his 100th G1 Climax victory but was denied by his opponent Yuya Uemura.

Despite a valiant effort by Tanahashi, Uemura emerged victorious and earned his 8th point of the tournament. The crowd was behind Tanahashi in his quest to win for the 100th time in G1 Climax action but his goal would not be fulfilled on August 1.

In the co-featured bout, Yota Tsuji was looking become the first competitor to reach 10 pts in the G1 Climax 35. He faced Taichi who himself was looking to remain in contention by earning his sixth point.

When all was said and done, it was Taichi who was able to prevail over Tsuji and raise his point total to six.

• Zack Sabre Jr. & Hartley Jackson defeated Great-O-Khan & Jakob Austin Young (6:42) after a Death Valley Bomb from Jackson to Young.
