New Japan Pro Wrestling’s El Phantasmo will debut his custom HDBNGR RGB LED Shades at all G1 Climax 35 shows, marking the culmination of a two-year development process that the wrestler claims has produced the world’s most powerful light-up shades.

The Canadian high-flyer, who spoke with Monthly Puroresu in Issue #3 back in early 2022, announced the launch via Instagram, revealing that his LED eyewear features over 25 different animations, 1500+ color combinations, and a battery life exceeding five hours—specifications he says surpass any competing LED glasses currently available.

The product launch represents the end of a challenging development journey that began in April 2022 when El Phantasmo first contacted electronics companies about creating custom LED shades. After partnering with one willing manufacturer, the initial prototypes proved unreliable, with early versions breaking immediately upon testing.

ELP’s custom shades hit a significant hurdle came in the animation programming phase.

Unsatisfied with basic blinking patterns, money signs, and fish animations, El Phantasmo sought specialized coding expertise through Fiverr, eventually locating one of only two programmers worldwide capable of working with the specific chip technology required.

International shipping complications plagued the development process, with one prototype package reportedly held for bribes in Bangladesh and never delivered. A subsequent shipment to a programmer in India required El Phantasmo to develop an interactive website allowing him to mock up animations for recreation—a process he described as involving “the slowest responding human in the world.”

Despite the setbacks, El Phantasmo incorporated fan-submitted animations into the final product through his custom website interface, adding a community element to the technical development.

The wrestler expressed mixed feelings about the final product, alternating between pride in the technical achievements and uncertainty about market demand for “bright af led party glasses” with such extensive customization options.

HDBNGR RGB LED Shades will be available exclusively at G1 Climax 35 venues, with the launch date now officially approved after the extended development period.
