Eita Wins GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship at 15th Anniversary Event

By: Ian McCord

On June 20th, Pro Wrestling NOAH star Eita celebrated 15 years since his debut match for Dragon Gate in 2011. The event took place at the Agematsu Town Community Center, where he faced off against Dragon Bane for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship.

Eita stepped up as the next challenger for the title back in May, after Dragon Bane defeated AMAKUSA for the championship at NOAH’s SPRING MAYHEM RYOGOKU 2026, with the match being made official for Eita’s 15th anniversary event.

The two Jr. Heavyweight standouts battled in the main event of the anniversary show in front of 603 fans who were firmly in support of Eita on his big day. After almost 23 minutes of back and forth action, Eita was able to reclaim the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship for the 3rd time in his career after he hit his Salamander finisher off the top rope for the win.

After the match, Eita nominated the man who beat him for Jr. Title during his first run with the belt in 2022, HAYATA, as the first challenger for his newly won championship. HAYATA accepted the challenge, bringing a bouquet of flowers to the ring for the new champion.

During his post-match comments, Eita doubled down on what he said to the live crowd stating that HAYATA is the next challenger, noting wanting to get revenge from a past loss during the 2025 Jr. Tag League. Eita also thanked the supportive crowd for giving him the push he needed to defeat Dragon Bane for the championship.

From Eita:

“I’ve taken the NOAH Junior title. Today, right here, I’ve made history in NOAH’s 26-year history. This isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning. Like I said in the ring, I’m calling out my next challenger. HAYATA, it’s you. I don’t know if you remember, but last year there was a Junior Tag Tournament, right? I still haven’t settled the score from that. Also, you’ve been pretty quiet lately. I’m going to light a fire under you. It rained like crazy at today’s Agematsu event, but seeing this many people turn out, I knew I had no choice but to go for the win, no matter what it took. I was able to win thanks to everyone’s support. There were tons of tough moments, but you guys really gave me that extra push. Well, I don’t have anything else to say. The face of NOAH Junior is going to keep moving forward, so hey—don’t take your eyes off me.”

Eita and HAYATA will face off for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title at LEGACY RISE 2026 on July 5th at Korakuen Hall.
