Dragon Gate’s Shun Skywalker Challenges Kento Miyahara For His AJPW Triple Crown Title

On Nov. 7th, the Naruki Doi 25th Anniversary event took place at Shinjuku FACE in front of a sold out crowd. The show featured Dragon Gate & AJPW wrestlers as they joined forces as well as faced off against each other in this special event.

The featured match was a six man tag team bout as AJPW Triple Crown Champion Kento Miyahara, Dragon Gate star YAMATO & AJPW star Yuma Anzai took on Dragon Gate superstar Shun Skywalker, AJPW star Yuma Anzai & Dragon Gate star Homare. YAMATO won the match for his team after hitting the Galleria on Homare which was good enough to claim victory.

Following the match, Shun Skywalker confronted the AJPW Triple Crown Champion Kento Miyahara. In a report by Tokyo Sports, Skywalker took the mic and directed these comments at Miyahara:

From Shun Skywalker:

“Think you can just walk away after this fight? Think you dodged a match with Shun Skywalker? You know what I’m getting at? Hand over one of those three titles you hold. Unfortunately, the situation isn’t right for me to challenge for all three titles right now. So hand one of them over to Shun Skywalker.” (Translated via Deepl)

Skywalker asked Miyahara for a future shot at the Triple Crown Title. Miyahara took control of the mic and praised Skywalker and agreed that they should meet for the title, when the situation is right.

From Kento Miyahara:

“I did my research and came here today. Your mic work was long and excellent. Your mic work hit all the right points. Looking around this industry, getting Kento Miyahara to say your mic work is excellent is a great thing. “Like you said, I’m looking forward to meeting you in the ring when the situation is right.” (Translated via Deepl)

An AJPW Triple Crown Championship match between Kento Miyahara and Shun Skywalker could be one for the ages. It would definitely be a match that would generate a tremendous amount of fan interest.

Skywalker took to social media and responded to a match clip between him and Yuma Aoyagi. He challenged Miyahara to come to him, assumingly in Dragon Gate, while he told Aoyagi to basically stay home.

With both superstars showing interest, we could very well see Miyahara defending his AJPW Triple Crown Title against Dragon Gate superstar Shun Skywalker at some point in the future.
