Chris Ridgeway & Drew Parker Set to Challenge for GLEAT’s G-INFINITY Championship on 9/18

By: Ian McCord

On September 18th, Chris Ridgeway and Drew Parker will be returning to GLEAT as a unit under the banner North x Wales Strong. The duo is set to challenge for the G-INFINITY Championship at Underground Pro Wrestling 1st Season Episode 5 at Basement Monstar Oji in Tokyo.

Last week, GLEAT announced that the winners of the G-INFINITY Championship match on September 4th between champions Quiet Storm and Ryuichi Kawakami and Yuya Aoki and Shigehiro Irie would face the team of Ridgeway and Parker on September 18th. Quiet Storm and Kawakami went on to win that match and retain the championship in their first defense, making the match against Ridgeway and Parker official.

Ridgeway and Parker have driven up and down the roads together throughout the UK, competing against and alongside one another since the early stages of their careers. Both have prior experience in GLEAT; however, this is the first time they will be teaming up together in Japan.

In a recent interview, Ridgeway told Monthly Puroresu that he and Drew Parker have their sights set on the G-INFINITY Championship. Ridgeway stated that he wants to bring the titles home and defend them there in the UK to help put more eyes on GLEAT.

From Chris Ridgeway:

“I want us to win them and bring them to the UK and defend them. I want to put GLEAT on more people’s screens and eyes around the UK and Europe, it deserves more acknowledgment than it gets around my way. Too many talented wrestlers from there are quite under the radar here and I think we can shine a light on the promotion itself.”

It was noted by GLEAT that the winners of the G-INFINITY Championship match on September 18th will face the team of TJP and G Sharpe two days later, on September 20th, at Umeda Sky Building Stella Hall in Osaka.
