Chi Chi and ZONES Both Announce Departure from Pro-Wrestling Evolution

By Noah Leatherland

Up and coming joshi stars Chi Chi and ZONES both announced their departure from Pro-Wrestling Evolution. Both have been with the promotion since its inception event in 2023.

Chi Chi and ZONES both made statements on their departure, as well as their reasons behind their decisions. It appears both have their eyes set on building their reputation in both Japan and overseas.

ZONES was the inaugural Evolution Strong Women’s Champion, holding the title for 121 days in 2025. She made the following statement:

I, ZONES, will be graduating from Evolution as of March 31st. From April 1st, I would like to continue appearing in Evolution’s ring as a freelancer. My goal of becoming the strongest and most beautiful wrestler on Earth hasn’t wavered at all, so to achieve that, I want to fight in various rings both in Japan and abroad. I’m proud to have been born as a wrestler in Evolution and to have come this far.

Chi Chi currently holds the Evolution Strong Women’s Championship, having defeated MICHIKO for it back in January. She made the following statement:

This is a personal matter, but as of my contract expiration date on March 31st, I will be leaving Pro Wrestling Evolution. I believe this is an amicable departure. My love for Evolution hasn’t changed at all, and I can never thank Suwama-san and Ishikawa-san enough for bringing me into this world as a professional wrestler. When I thought about what I want to do and my future career, the desire to ‘take on the challenge of going overseas’ grew very strong. Since I understand English, I have the feeling that I want to keep taking on challenges. Watching Sareee, a great senior who is closest to me, aggressively taking on various challenges as a freelancer, I felt like I could no longer just stand still. While this was a decision I made on my own, the influence of having a senior like that by my side was also very large. I want to keep taking on challenges and become an existence that people can never take their eyes off of and never get tired of.
