The New Japan Cup 2026 tournament, which began back on March 4th, came to an electrifying conclusion on March 21st at a sold out Aore Nagaoka with over 3,000 fans on hand for the event.

United Empire’s Callum Newman faced “Heat Storm” Yuya Uemura in the New Japan Cup 2026 finals which served at the main event. To reach the pinnacle point of the tournament, Newman defeated Shota Umino and Uemura got past Oleg Boltin on March 20th which set up the showdown between the two.

Fans on hand and watching on NJPW World were expecting a very competitive bout and that is exactly what they received from Newman and Uemura. Both combatants went into the match knowing the importance of coming out as the victor and they fought their hearts out to achieve that goal.

Newman entered the match with an injured arm and Uemura placed his concentration on Newman’s disadvantage early on.
