All Elite Wrestling superstar Anthony Bowens was a recent guest on the HypeTalk TV podcast. A number of topics were discussed including Bowens interest in heading to Japan to compete for New Japan Pro-Wrestling
During the course of the interview, Bowens indicated that he loves the Japanese culture. Bowens said he studied Japanese in college back in 2010 primarily because he always wanted to wrestle in Japan.
The AEW superstar was asked if he had interest in wrestling for NJPW to which Bowens responded that he definitely did. Bowens even made a playful plea to Rocky Romero about wanting to wrestle in Japan for NJPW.
From Anthony Bowens on if he has interest in wrestling for NJPW:
“Oh, yeah, absolutely. That’s actually something I wanted to talk to management about at some point doing was going over there. Especially because we have the partnership, I think it makes total sense. We have Forbidden Door, we have, you know opportunities that AEW guys were just at Wrestle Kingdom last year. So hopefully one day that can come to fruition. Rocky [Romero], if you’re listening to this I’d love to go to New Japan.”
In addition, Bowens hinted at being a participant in the prestigious NJPW G1 Climax tournament but indicated that he would have to get through the AEW Continental Classic first.
