Hanawa was introduced to the press by the Triple Crown Champion & AJPW Athletes Association President Kento Miyahara and AJPW President Takeshi Fukuda.
Miyahara spoke to the press and gave his thoughts on the new AJPW signee Hanawa:
From Kento Miyahara:
“He has a background in judo, so I imagine he’s confident in his physical strength. He seemed comfortable at the press conference, perhaps because he’s been used to cameras since childhood. That’s a definite strength. Plus, attending press conferences puts him in a different environment than regular trainees. But in a good way, he’s not getting carried away. I think he’s keeping that in mind.” (English translation via Deepl.com)
Hanawa had been interested in becoming a pro-wrestler for quite some time and after careful consideration, he decided to join AJPW.
During the press conference, Genki Hanawa stated that he wants to become a great wrestler and cited Keiji Muto as his inspiration.
