On Sept. 7th, All Japan Pro-Wrestling rising star Taishin Nagao tragically passed away after being hit by a tour bus back on May 31st which he never recovered from.
AJPW held a press conference on Sept. 12 to provide more details on the passing of the 21 year old Nagao. Representative Director Tsuyoki Fukuda and Director Toshiki Toeda were both on hand at the press conference as they provided details of the incident that led to the untimely death of Nagao.

It was revealed that the tour bus that struck Nagao occurred in narrow alley near the AJPW dojo. As the incident is still under investigation by the local police, no further details were given.
Nagao had been in the intensive care unit since May 31st due to traumatic shock from abdominal compression. It was disclosed that Nagao had been hoping to recover following numerous surgeries.
On Sept. 6th in the early morning, Nagao’s condition had taken a turn for the worse. He passed away on Sept. 7th from sepsis. Nagao was cremated on Sept. 10 with all AJPW wrestlers attending to pay their final respects.
To prevent a similar incident in the future, AJPW has announced these new measures that will be implemented:
“Before the incident, the operation of our company-owned buses was outsourced to external drivers, but after the incident, the operation of company-owned vehicles has been suspended and outsourced to external bus operating companies”
“Thoroughly checking surroundings when boarding and alighting buses and strictly adhering to driving with safety as the top priority”
“Reporting this matter to the United Japan Pro-Wrestling to raise awareness and educate.”

A memorial service is set for Sept. 15th for Taishin Nagao at Korakuen Hall at the AJPW Royal Road Tournament event.
