AJPW Announces Dates for Champion Carnival 2024

All Japan Pro Wrestling has announced the dates for their Champion Carnival tournament

All Japan Pro-Wrestling’s most prestigious event is set to carry on it’s annual tradition. A good portion of the dates and locations for the Champion Carnival 2024 have been revealed by AJPW. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on April 18th at Korakuen Hall with the championship match set for May 18th at the Yokohama BUNTAI. The winner of the Champion Carnival will earn an opportunity at the Triple Crown championship which is currently held by Katsuhiko Nakajima.

Here are the announced dates and locations for the Champion Carnival 2024:

  • April 18 [Opening Match] Korakuen Hall, Tokyo
  • April 20 Shizuoka, Act City Hamamatsu
  • April 21  Chiba・Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Center Exhibition Hall 4
  • April 24 Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball, Tokyo
  • April 27 EDION Arena Osaka, Stadium 2
  • April 28 Aichi Nagoya Congress Center
  • April 29 Toyama-Kurobe City Sports Center Main Arena
  • May 3 Miyagi Yume Messe Miyagi Main Building Exhibition Hall C (Sendai)
  • May 6 Korakuen Hall, Tokyo
  • May 12 [Championship Match] Kanagawa, Yokohama BUNTAI

AJPW has indicated that additional dates for the tournament will be announced in the near future.

The Champion Carnival was first held back in 1973 and has since become the biggest event for the promotion. Early winners of the tournament include Giant Baba, Abdullah the Butcher and Jumbo Tsuruta. Shotaro Ashino was the winner of Champion Carnival 2023 but had to pull out of his Triple Crown Title opportunity due to an injury suffered in the finals against T-Hawk. AJPW has not announced any competitors for the Champion Carnival 2024 as of this writing.
